ViaJuraRegio is a 110 km signposted French-Swiss hiking route (60km of which is in France) providing access to Basel at Delémont.
This route follows the paths used by the prince-bishops of Basel when they went to their homes in Delémont and Porrentruy between the 16th and 18th centuries. It proposes ""learning history from a journey"". History of course but also gastronomy, soil, fauna and flora, and the beautiful surroundings on this route.
This route crosses the French-Swiss border in the far south of Alsace: the Alsatian Jura, then runs through the Ajoie, the Clos du Doubs region and the Delémont valley.
Map and guidebook available.
