Exhibition Jeanne de Ferrette Duchess of Austria
Exhibition visible in Les Jardins des remparts - Free access from 8 a.m. to 22 p.m. throughout the summer
Sundgau and Ferrette County honor its icon Jeanne de Ferrette on the occasion of the 700rd anniversary of her marriage, in May 1324, to Albert II of Habsburg. It is for our compatriots the opportunity to discover our ancestors and in particular the necropolis of Jeanne and Albert in a beautiful Chartreuse created for them in 1330. The latter was administratively closed in 1792 then abandoned for more than two centuries . Ultimately, it was occupied by the Red Army until 1955. Condemned to destruction, it was saved thanks to an architect, Walter Hildebrand, who ensured its revitalization.
Access by the courtyard of the Sundgauvien Museum, by the alleyway rue Hommaire de Hell or by the staircase rue des Boulangers.
