Exhibition, guided tour, craft market and concert of a Romanesque church
A Romanesque jewel of Sundgau, the church, dating from 1144, was erected in stones cut from Jura limestone by Count Frederick I of Ferrette, as a burial place for himself and his family. Classified as a historic monument, it is today the oldest church in Alsace dedicated to Saint James the Greater. As you walk through the door, you are immediately struck by the simplicity of the decor; this church reminds us of monastic simplicity.
