Alsace Loop by Bike & Tricycle for all - Ill Valley and Sundgauvian Plateau
This 21km circuit, with 160m of elevation gain, begins in the center of Waldighoffen and allows you to discover the charms of rural southern Alsace. You'll follow the Ill Valley cycle route and cross the picturesque village of Illtal, famous for its many typical half-timbered houses. The cycle path will then take you to Bettendorf, where you'll follow the banks of the Willerbach stream, heading upstream along a peaceful farm road. You'll then reach the village of Willer, also rich in beautiful traditional farmhouses. The route continues along the old Roman road to Muespach, offering superb views of the Vosges, Jura, and Black Forest mountains along the way. The descent to Steinsoultz is via a few gravel paths before a leisurely return to Waldighoffen. A bucolic and varied itinerary, perfect for a cycling getaway in the heart of the Alsatian countryside. Created in partnership between the Alsace à Vélo collective, the Colibrius company, and the Sundgau Tourist Office, this loop has been tested and approved with adapted bicycles. The route has held the "Tourism & Disability" label since May 2026.
