Discover Christmas in Sundgau
Christmas in the Sundgau is above all the Enchanted Forest of Altkirch , a magical forest populated by characters from the tales and legends of the Sundgau which brings back to life all the imagination of our small region for 5 weeks.
Christmas in the Sundgau region also includes many other events, such as the St. Nicholas fair and parades, which traditionally kick off the Christmas festivities. These are followed by numerous small Christmas markets, shows, concerts, and exhibitions, all contributing to the unique and authentic Christmas atmosphere of Alsace.
The New Year's Eve torchlight celebration ends the year in style, outdoors and in an original way near the county town of Ferrette.
Finally, the Sundgau region is part of the " Land of Fabrics ," an area in southern Alsace that each year offers a Christmas fabric to decorate markets and monuments. Printed locally, this exclusive fabric is complemented by related products available in Sundgau Tourist Offices.
