The Raemel chain, two kilometers long, blocks the horizon and peaks at 832 meters above sea level. It is the highest point of the Alsatian Jura, which is reached by a picturesque limestone ridge, the path of customs or smugglers, which follows the Franco-Swiss border. A fairly sporty walk, embellished with magnificent panoramas of the Swiss Jura.

The landscapes crossed here are among the most beautiful in Sundgau. The Mannlefelsen rock shelter, a major Mesolithic site in Alsace, precedes the Ebourbettes which tell of the escape of General Giraud in 1942. Further on, the Morimont ruins offer an interesting history lesson on the adaptation of a medieval castle with firearms.

The walk leads to the heart of the Glaserberg massif, on the heights of Winkel. You will cross the national forest of Saint-Pierre and the Allée des Hêtres, consisting of a remarkable alignment for several reasons: number (about 40), age (more than 150 years), shape and dimensions of beech trees (28 m high and 3m in circumference on average) as well as the regularity of the alignment. Arriving at the Neuneich pass, it is possible to extend the route to the Blochmont pass and the Hornihof farm, which allows you to contemplate magnificent landscapes characteristic of the Swiss Jura. This hike around Ferrette, the great classic, is an opportunity to visit the ruined castle and the city of the powerful counts of Ferrette. Narrow and romantic paths at will lead to astonishing limestone promontories and to the mysterious Cave of the Dwarfs, where a famous legend is told. The route can be extended to include the Rossberg panoramic tower and complete an 8 km loop. To do this, follow the markings for the Vosges blue disc club along the entire length of the course.
