Access by car
Sundgau is bordered by several French and German motorways, the closest of which is the A36 motorway (Bourgogne-Mulhouse). To access Sundgau from Lyon and Paris, take exit 14 (Bessoncourt) and follow the direction of Bâle (D419). Exit 15 (Burnhaupt) is ideal for motorists coming from Germany or the rest of Alsace. It is located north of the Sundgau and allows direct access to Altkirch (D466) or Dannemarie (D103).
Motorists coming from Switzerland and Austria will exit at the Saint-Louis / Huningue exit on the A35 after Basel. Just follow the direction of Altkirch by the D419 or Ferrette road depending on your destination.
The car remains the most practical way to discover our region. Several car rental companies offer their services through the Sundgau or directly from Bâle-Mulhouse-Freiburg Airport.
By train
The closest stations nationwide are Belfort and Mulhouse. The TGV EST Paris-Mulhouse is the fastest and most regular means of rail transport (in 3 hours). Find a timetable.
To get to Sundgau by train, you have to take the TER (Mulhouse-Belfort line). This line serves in particular the stations of Illfurth, Walheim, Altkirch, Dannemarie and Montreux-Vieux.
The Rhine-Rhône TGV line also saves significant time.

Access by plane
Euroairport, international airport better known under the name of Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg Airport is served by numerous flights from almost all European cities. The airport site is in the town of Blotzheim near Saint Louis and is therefore only about 30 kilometers from the capital of Sundgau and 25 minutes from the town of Ferrette. Almost all Air France flights from French cities serve Paris. Many flights are operated by low-cost airlines.
A shuttle serves the airport and goes to St Louis Huningue station.

Access by bus
Several bus lines serve the small villages of Sundgau and connect in particular the town of Ferrette, in the far south, to that of Mulhouse via the Sundgauvian capital of Altkirch.
