Access by Car

The Sundgau is bordered by several French and German motorways, the closest of which is the A36 motorway (Bourgogne-Mulhouse). To access the Sundgau from Lyon and Paris, take exit 14 (Bessoncourt) and follow the direction of Basel (D419). Exit 15 (Burnhaupt) is ideal for motorists from Germany or the rest of Alsace. It is located north of the Sundgau and provides direct access to Altkirch (D466) or Dannemarie (D103).

Motorists from Switzerland and Austria will exit from Saint-Louis / Huningue on the A35 after Basel. Just follow the direction of Altkirch by road D419 or Ferrette depending on its destination.

The car remains the most practical way to discover our region. Several car rental companies offer their services through Sundgau or directly from Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg airport.
